Final Italian Post!
Yes I am finally here to post the remaining photo's from my adventure in Italy (for the beginning of the adventure see: 2006 OLYMPICS PART I). I had my camera stolen at one point, so there is quite a hole in the midst of the Games that went unrecorded here. I did post some from my mobile camera, so be sure to check the dates to the left and click those with a link. There are a FEW pics there. And as you can see, I picked up a new camera for the remainder of my time there .... Enjoy!
From the final night of rehearsals .... and we took our last opportunity to climb the eight flights of rickety old stairs to the top of the Olympic Tower. It's been renamed such after being built by Mussolini in WWII as a radio post of some sort.

CLOSING CEREMONIES DAY!
A perfect, gorgeous day after days and days of snow forcasts!

And for those of you that wonder what it LOOKS like, where I work ... The following are a series of pics (360 degrees) from the roof of one of our storage units. It'll give you a glimpse of how big a production this was based on how many mobile units (or OB Vans) we had, how logistically challenging the whole thing was as you can see just how far our compound actually was from the stadium and arena!

AND THEN IT WAS DONE.
THE PEOPLE
It would never have been done without them, some absolutely amazing and wonderful people who I already MISS!
Giulio, my Deputy Logistics Manager and SAVIOR, and Paulo, Alpha Runner ;)

Our five gold medal runners (blurry phone camera ... grr!)

Our cameramen down within the show were suited up like the performers! Once again a blurry cameraphone picture!

James and Matt our Information Dept. gurus ...

The whole team: Jose Ramon Diez, Mary Rusznak, Lucho Gonazalez-Aller, Felix Garcia and me!

My boss, Lucho ... SO HAPPY THAT IT WAS DONE!

Tiberio and Dante

Our phones were good for some fun .... Craig with an afro!

TIME FOR A HOLIDAY!
And I took some time to see the city of Torino....
A view near the River Po.

The Mole (Mo-lay) is an amazing movie museum. They have some amazing memorabilia in their collection, original movie posters and scripts from Gone with the Wind and To Catch a Theif....

VENICE
I went to a small town called Cordenons to meet my grandmother's family. I'd never met them but they were warm and wonderful and my cousin Federico (who I'd written for several years as a teenager) took me to Venice where he'd gone to University.

Juliet's Balcony ... YES, as in ROMEO! (I had no idea it was a real place either...)

And then the sight-seeing was done and it was time to go home. After 23 hours of traveling, two weather delays, I finally got home.
So until the next event .... Ciao!
